Ok, I give up! How can this sleeping position possibly be comfortable?

"Oh mom, please let me sleep!" Abby has grown so much, and is really getting along with the 'fat-cat' - Puma. Abby just loves life. She runs around, doing the Daytona 100 nightly, and sleeps all day while we are at work. Puma is teaching her well!

Here she is, telling me just what she thinks of her new collar!

Modeling her *bling*: (notice the saved leg - again - that was from her spay)

Abby and Puma have started to get along. I think Abby just wants to play and Puma just wants to be an older cat and tolerate her existence. It took quite a few months for Abby's nose to heal up. It must have been burned with chemicals or something. Here she is sleeping on my lap while I was working on my laptop. She just wanted to be close. She always wants to be close to me.

Abby was not doing well. She started throwing up and her food intake and water intake was not much. She was still isolated to the guest bedroom, so I stayed with her the entire day. By Monday morning, she could not even hold her head up. I waited, impatiently, for my vet to open Monday morning and called and took her right in. He took a look at her and immediately took some blood. He said even without the results of the blood test, he could tell that he kidney's were failing, shutting down. I told him to SAVE HER. Do what ever is needed! He immediately started her on IV anti-biotics and vitamins. He called me later that day and said that the blood work came back and he kidney's were about 90% shut down. He will give her a vigorous dosage of IV fluids and medicines and she if she can bounce back. Three days later and two night, she was better! She came though. She stayed at the vets the entire time and made new friends there. The vet ran one more blood test before she got to come home, and he kidney's were coming back. Part of them could be scared for life, but she was alive, thanks to all their hard work! Here she is when she came home on 2/22/06, sporting her shaved IV leg. (She was given a bath before she came home also. She has about 30 black hairs on the top of her head. We call them her 'racing stripes')

There was a little, scrawny, dirty, white cat, meowing like mad, outside my fiancé's office window. She kept looking in his window, meowing at him. His boss, also a cat lover, went outside to get her. She was put in the company conference room until they decided what to do with her. No one wanted to take her home and the suggestion was made to take her to the pound. My fiancé soon called me and asked if I wanted another cat, and told me her story. Of course, I wanted her! It was Friday night, and she came home with him from work. I scooped her up and took her to go see my vet. She was 'snap' tested and negative on that test. The vet gave her a little food, and she couldn't eat fast enough. He said that she seemed ok, just very under weight and dirty. She seemed to be around 6 or 7 month old. Here is a picture of her the first night she was here. It is not the best picture as she would not sit still. She wanted to rub all over me, when I was in her 'isolation' room.
